Dry food for neutered cats: what the label says
Advice · · Golosi
Bags for neutered cats often carry one word: Sterilised. The label tells you what’s behind it. You only need to read two lines.
Who the food is for
Every food says who it’s for. For Golosi Cat Sterilised Pollo and Cat Sterilised Low Fat, the description says “adult neutered cats”. Both are complete feeds, so each is enough on its own as a daily ration.
Protein and fat in numbers
The second line is the analytical constituents. Here are all the Golosi recipes for cats side by side:
| Recipe | Who it’s for | Protein | Fat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cat Sterilised Low Fat | adult neutered cats | 35.5% | 9% |
| Cat Sterilised Pollo | adult neutered cats | 33.5% | 12% |
| Cat Sterilised Tonno & Salmone | adult cats | 34% | 11% |
| Cat Pollo & Tacchino | adult cats | 33% | 12% |
| Cat Tri Mix | adult cats | 33% | 13% |
| Cat Manzo & Riso | adult cats | 33% | 13% |
| Cat Kitten | kittens | 34% | 18% |
Cat Sterilised Low Fat has the least fat, 9%, and also the most protein, 35.5%. Cat Kitten has the most fat, 18%.
How much kibble to give
The amount depends on your cat’s weight, and each recipe has it in its own table. Always make sure your cat has plenty of fresh water. If you’re not sure about the amount, ask your vet.
